Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews announced 25 out of 35 local government areas in Greater Sydney will be downgraded from red to orange zones from 6pm on Monday. Anyone in an orange zone will need a permit to enter Victoria and upon arrival, will be required to quarantine until receiving a negative test result. The premier specified the following local government areas will remain red zones: Bankstown City, Burwood, Canada Bay City, Canterbury Bankstown, Cumberland, Fairfield City, Inner West, Liverpool City, Parramatta City and Strathfield Municipality. Aside from these ten, every other area would change from red to orange. He also announced the Blue Mountains and Wollongong will also shift from red to orange. It comes as the state recorded its twelfth consecutive day of zero cases of community transmission.
