Victoria’s hotel inquiry has handed down its interim report, making 69 recommendations to overhaul the state’s botched quarantine program. The inquiry recommends the program be split using a combination of facility-based and at home-based quarantine. Chair Jennifer Coate also called for clearer government reporting lines, suggesting only one department be responsible for the scheme. An overhaul of record keeping was also suggested, with the report calling for a full transition to a digital system. The inquiry also recommended a 24/7 police presence at all facilities. The full report will be tabled no later than December 21. Victoria’s hotel inquiry has handed down its interim report, making 69 recommendations to overhaul the state’s botched quarantine program.
