Another person has died in hospital after contracting and testing positive for COVID-19, according to the latest data from Public Health England. It's thought the individual was a male in his 50s, although this has not been confirmed. To date, 91 people have died from the coronavirus on the Isle of Wight; 42 in hospital, 45 in care homes; 3 at home and 1 at Mountbatten Hospice. The death occurred on Tuesday 27th October. Latest data from the Official for National Statistics shows that there has been 620 cases of COVID-19 recorded on the Isle of Wight since the start of the pandemic. It's known that very few people are being treated at St Mary's Hospital for the virus at this time, although an additional Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has opened for those who have tested negative for coronavirus.
